Honda Manufacturing Nigeria Limited (HMN), founded in 1979, is a leading participant in Nigeria's power products sector and a division of Honda Motor Co., Japan. HMN manufactures and distributes a wide range of motorbikes, portable generators, water pumps, and general-purpose engines from its cutting-edge production facility at KM 6 on the Ota-Idiroko Road in Ota, Ogun State.

Job Title: Account Supervisor

Location: Ota, Ogun

Job Summary

  • As an Account Supervisor for the Accounts Department in our manufacturing company, you will manage all financial activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • You'll oversee daily accounting operations, inventory and cost accounting, and prepare financial statements.
  • You'll assist in budgeting and forecasting, comply with accounting standards, and work with external auditors.
  • Your role will include financial analysis for strategic decisions, enhancing accounting systems.
  • A strong understanding of cost accounting, analytical abilities, and collaborative skills are essential.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions related to our manufacturing and sales activities in the ERP/SAGE general ledger daily.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Coordinate with the production and sales departments to gather financial data and ensure accurate cost accounting and reporting
  • Oversee inventory and cost accounting, understanding the financial impact of production processes and pricing strategies.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, providing inputs based on manufacturing cost trends and sales projections.
  • Monitor and analyze budgetary control reports, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making with data-driven financial analysis and insights.
  • Comply with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies, implementing changes as required.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • HND / Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related disclipline.
  • A professional certification such as ICAN or equivalent ismandatory.
  • Proven experience (5 years minimum) in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of cost accounting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insights.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships across departments.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and financial management systems. Experience with SAGE or any ERP.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Completion of NYSC - Discharge or Exemption Certificate required.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, with a focus on maintaining data integrity.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance in financial reporting.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • The applicant must be residing in Ogun / Lagos State.
