Job Title: Business Development Manager

Job Purpose

  • The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the growth of the company by identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and developing strategic partnerships within the transport and logistics sector.
  • The role involves market research, proposal development, and collaboration with internal teams to deliver tailored transport solutions that meet client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities in transport and logistics services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients to ensure long term partnerships.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with operations, finance, and customer service teams to ensure efficient service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Track and analyze business performance metrics and report progress to management.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives and brand-building activities to enhance market visibility.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and potential clients.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive business proposals, presentations, and bids to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements in line with company policies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, Transport Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, preferably in the transport, logistics, or supply chain industry.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Results-driven and self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and business growth.
  • Strong understanding of transport operations, fleet management, and logistics processes. Competencies

Salary
N300,000 - N400,000 monthly.
