Job Title: Chief Security Officer (CSO) - Onshore Facility

Job Description

  • As the Chief Security Officer (CSO) for our client's onshore facility in Escravos, Warri, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and protection of personnel, assets, and operations.
  • This leadership position requires an individual with a strong military background, extensive security and safety training, and proven experience in leadership roles.

Key Responsibilities
Security Leadership:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead a security team and ensure their training, readiness, and effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and risk analyses.

Safety Compliance:

  • Oversee safety programs and ensure adherence to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Implement safety training and awareness programs for staff and contractors.
  • Monitor safety compliance and investigate safety incidents.

Threat Assessment and Mitigation:

  • Identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and execute security plans to mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement agencies and security partners.

Emergency Response:

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and drills.
  • Lead crisis management efforts in the event of security incidents or emergencies.

Leadership and Training:

  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the security team.
  • Ensure that security personnel receive ongoing training and development.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, discipline, and dedication.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions.
  • Prior military service with the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) or the Nigerian Army is mandatory.
  • Security and safety certifications, such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP), are required.
  • Proven experience in leadership roles, preferably as a CSO or in a similar security capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of security and safety protocols and best practices.
  • Not more than 50 years of age.
