Job Title: Mixologist (Bartender)

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Description

  • We are on the verge of opening the very best Cafe in Abuja and are looking to put together an amazing team to drive the operations of our Cafe.

Our choice candidate for the Mixologist Role must be friendly and creative. S(He) will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring compliance with sanitation, hygiene, health and safety legislation and organisational and quality requirements
  • Create cocktails using fresh ingredients
  • Assist in the preparation of all beverages, both hot and cold
  • Assist with general bartender duties to include taking and making reservations, taking and serving order, clearing and preparing tables bar area and bar storage (cellar etc), prepare the bill and taking payment.
  • Understand the “ingredients” of cocktails and other drinks/ beverages to enable you to confidently deal with customer queries etc and to assist and help train other team members
  • Assist in the quality management of beverages
  • Effective liaison, support and assistance with the remainder of the organisation
  • Assist generally in the bar/drinks area as directed
  • Maintaining accurate records and accounts as required and agreed
  • Help set an example for other team members of commitment, work ethic and habits and personal character
  • Responsibly use resources and help control expenses
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures
  • From time to time you may be expected to be part of special projects as are reasonably required of your job role.
  • You are responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all targets as agreed with your Line Manager. You must contribute towards the smooth running of the organisation generally.

Job Title: Chef

Location: Abuja

Job Description

  • We are on the verge of opening the very best Cafe in Abuja and we are looking for a Chef to join our team to prepare delicious meals for our amazing clients.

Responsibilities

  • The Chef's responsibilities include studying recipes, setting up menus and preparing high-quality dishes. You should also be familiar with sanitation regulations. If you have experience with advanced cooking techniques and non-traditional ingredients, we’d like to meet you.
  • Ultimately, you’ll prepare and deliver a complete menu that delights our guests.

Other Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure appealing plate presentation
  • Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
  • Monitor food stock and place orders
  • Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
  • Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
  • Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta maker e.t.e)
  • Good knowledge of African and Continental dishes
  • Good knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
  • Excellent time management abilities

Job Title: Barista (Bartender)

Overview

  • We are on the verge of opening the very best Cafe in Abuja and are looking to put together an amazing team to drive the operations of our Cafe.
  • We are looking for a Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea.

Responsibilities

  • S (He) will be responsible for educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders.
  • To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates.
  • You should also be able to work various shifts.
  • Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent drinking experience for our guests.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Greet customers as they enter
  • Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients
  • Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
  • Prepare beverages following recipes
  • Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffins
  • Receive and process payments (cash and debit cards)
  • Keep the bar area clean
  • Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates
  • Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
  • Comply with health and safety regulations
  • Communicate customer feedback to your Line manager and recommend new menu items

Job Title: Cafe Manager

Location: Abuja

Job Description

  • We are on the verge of opening the very best Cafe in Abuja and we are looking for a Cafe Manager to drive the daily operations of the Cafe, oversee sales targets and motivate our staff to provide excellent customer service.
  • S(he) would also ensure KPIs are met and be able to codify the Cafe experience to ensure a consistently great experience.

Other responsibilities include;

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the cafe
  • Hire and onboard new wait staff and baristas
  • Coordinate with vendors and order supplies, as needed
  • Maintain updated records of daily, weekly and monthly revenues and expenses
  • Add new menu items based on seasonality and customers’ preferences (for example vegan coffee drinks)
  • Advise staff on the best ways to resolve issues with clients and deliver excellent customer service
  • Ensure all cafe areas are clean and tidy
  • Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation

Skills & Requirements

Job Title: Waiter / Waitress

Job Description

  • We are looking for a skilled Waiter or Waitress to take orders and deliver food and beverages to our customers.
  • The right Waiter/Waitress uplifts the dining experience for customers. We are looking for someone who will have the patience, personality, and perseverance to thrive in this role.

Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Greet and escort customers to their tables
  • Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients, or potential food allergies)
  • Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses
  • Inform customers about the day’s specials
  • Offer menu recommendations upon request
  • Up-sell additional products when appropriate
  • Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips, or by memorization
  • Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff
  • Serve food and drink orders
  • Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems

  • Carry dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to kitchen for cleaning

  • Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress
  • Hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information system (e.g. Revel POS or Toast POS)
  • Basic math skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Active listening and effective communication skills

  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
