Job Summary

• The Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality meal preparation and presentation.
• The ideal candidate must possess strong culinary skills, extensive knowledge of continental and intercontinental dishes, and experience working within the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and executing a wide variety of continental and intercontinental dishes.
• Supervise daily kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and consistency.
• Train, guide, and support kitchen staff in daily tasks.
• Ensure timely preparation of meals during lounge peak periods.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment and workstations.
• Support the Head Chef in any additional kitchen duties as required.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
• Assist in menu development and recipe creation.
• Ensure kitchen staff follow proper food handling, hygiene, and safety standards.
• Monitor stock levels; assist in ordering and managing inventory.

Requirements

• 3–5 years’ experience as a Sous Chef or senior kitchen position within the hospitality industry.
• Good understanding of kitchen safety, hygiene, and inventory management.
• Creativity in food presentation and recipe development.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
• Strong ability to prepare a wide range of continental and intercontinental cuisines.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced lounge environment.
