Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria (SHIN) is a key player in Nigeria's oil and gas and maritime industries, serving as the prime African subsidiary of the global shipbuilding giant, Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) of Korea. Established in August 2011, SHIN has a fabrication and integration yard in Lagos. This facility is notable as Africa's first-ever and only Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) integration yard.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Food & Beverage Manager

Location: Lagos

Position Summary

  • The Food and Beverage (F&B) Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen and dining operations within the SHI-MCI FZE facility.
  • This critical role ensures the provision of high-quality, safe, and diverse meals to a large, multinational workforce, including executive staff, engineers, and fabrication personnel.
  • The manager must maintain strict compliance with international food safety standards (HSE/HACCAP), manage a large catering team, control costs, and cater to the specific dietary and cultural needs of Korean, Nigerian, and other international employees.

Key Responsibilities
Operational & Culinary Management:

  • Oversee daily high-volume catering (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Develop culturally appropriate menus focused on Korean, Nigerian, and International cuisines. Ensure strict standards for food preparation and presentation.

Inventory, Procurement, and Cost Control:

  • Manage the F&B budget, actively controlling food and labor costs. Oversee procurement, inventory, and storage, minimizing waste and ensuring a reliable supply chain.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise a large, diverse F&B team (Chefs, Cooks, Servers). Develop training programs focused on skills and HSE protocols.

Health, Safety, and Compliance (HSE):

  • Implement and manage the HACCP/Food Safety Management System. Enforce rigorous hygiene and sanitation standards. Prepare for and pass all internal and external health audits.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 7-10 years in high-volume, industrial, or large institutional catering (e.g., oil & gas camps or major corporate kitchens).
  • Expertise: Proven ability to manage diverse international cuisines, especially Korean and Nigerian.
  • Certification: Strong background and certification in HACCP/Food Safety Management.
