Job Title: Dentist

Job Description

  • We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and experienced Dentist to join our dental care team at our Awka facility.
  • We are committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality oral healthcare services in a patient-centered environment, and we are looking for a professional who is passionate about preventive dentistry, restorative procedures, patient education, and delivering exceptional dental experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine dental examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning for patients of all ages.
  • Interpret dental radiographs (X-rays) and utilize diagnostic tools to support accurate treatment decisions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, sterilization standards, and radiation safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with dental assistants, hygienists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care.
  • Participate in community outreach programs and dental health awareness initiatives when required.
  • Carry out preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dental procedures including fillings, extractions, root canal treatments, scaling and polishing, crowns, bridges, and veneers.
  • Diagnose and manage oral diseases, infections, periodontal conditions, and dental trauma.
  • Perform minor oral surgical procedures such as simple extractions, alveoloplasty, and biopsies when indicated.
  • Prescribe appropriate medications, including antibiotics, analgesics, and other dental therapeutics.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, dietary advice, and preventive care to promote long-term oral health.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Full registration and valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of post-qualification clinical experience in general dentistry.
  • Experience in a private dental practice or multi-specialty setting is highly desirable.
  • Additional certifications or training in areas such as endodontics, restorative dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or implantology are an added advantage.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Strong clinical skills in general dentistry with a broad range of procedural expertise.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy clinical setting while maintaining high standards of care.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills to guide dental support staff.
  • Excellent diagnostic abilities, attention to detail, and sound clinical judgment.
  • Gentle chairside manner, strong communication skills, and ability to build trust with patients (including children and anxious patients).
  • Proficiency in the use of dental equipment, materials, and modern techniques.
  • Commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, and continuous professional development.
