Executive Secretary at the Nigeria Computer Society

The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) is the umbrella organization of all Information Technology Professionals, Interest Groups and Stakeholders in Nigeria. NCS was formed in 1978 as Computer Association of Nigeria (COAN) and Transformed into NCS in 2002 as a result of harmonization with other stakeholder and interest groups. NCS is the national platform for the advancement of Information Technology Science and Practice in Nigeria. Our mission is Advancement of Information Technology Science and Practice and their deployments as solutions and business enablers to all industry practices of human endeavor.

Job Title: Executive Secretary

Location: Nigeria

Responsibilities

• Run the daily activities of the society in an organized and efficient manner
• Relate with IT stakeholders, industries, and governments on behalf of the society on issues relating to IT development in Nigeria
• Realising the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) defined for the office
• Create new values and opportunities for the society
• Coordinate the effective implementation of the activities and programmes of the society
• Carry out the functions stated in the constitution of NCS
• Constantly developing and executing strategies for guaranteeing the financial viability of the society
• Promote, enhance, and sustain the membership of the society
• Pursue the implementation of the objectives of the society
• Any other duties assigned by the President and National Executive Council.

Qualifications and Professional Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or any Information Technology related discipline
• Masters in any IT related discipline or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) will be an added advantage.
• Must have a minimum of 10-years cognate experience in the Information Technology practice
• Must have good knowledge of the administration and management of corporate organisations
• Must have good knowledge of the administration and management of corporate organisations
• Must have result-oriented leadership qualities
• Must have sound communication and interpersonal skills.
• Membership of Nigeria Computer Society for a minimum of five years
• Registration with Computer Professionals (Registration Council of Nigeria) - CPN
• Must not be more than 55 years at the time of application.
