Job Title: Exploration Geologist

What You’ll Do

• Exploration Strategy: Design and execute exploration plans that align with technical and operational objectives.
• Subsurface Analysis: Conduct detailed geological and geophysical studies to identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon reserves.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including drilling, reservoir, and technical planning teams.
• Technology Utilisation: Leverage advanced exploration software (e.g., Petrel, GeoFrame)and tools to enhance evaluations.
• Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate geological risks to optimize exploration outcomes.
• Reporting: Prepare comprehensive exploration reports, maps, and recommendations for senior management.
• Data Integration: Interpret seismic, well logs, and other subsurface data to assess exploration prospects.
• Project Management: Oversee exploration projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.

What We’re Looking For
Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related field. A master’s degree in
• Petroleum Geosciences is an added advantage.

Experience:

• 8–12 years in exploration geology or geophysics within the oil and gas industry.
• Proven success in prospect identification and evaluation.
• Hands-on experience with seismic interpretation and subsurface data analysis.

Skills and Competencies:

• Proficiency in geological and geophysical interpretation.
• Strong risk assessment and problem-solving abilities.
• Competence in exploration software such as Petrel or GeoFrame.
• Expertise in seismic acquisition and processing.

Competencies:

• Analytical thinking and strategic mindset.
• Ability to innovate and adapt to advanced exploration technologies.
