Finance Manager at Education as a Vaccine (EVA)


Education as a Vaccine (EVA) is a youth-led, youth-focused non-profit organization created to work in partnership with children, adolescents and young people to advance their rights to health and protect them from all forms of violence by strengthening their capacities, providing direct services and influencing policies for improved quality of life.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description
Financial Management:

  • Support the creation of organization forecast.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation.
  • Support the auditing of organizational account by an appointed external auditor on an annual basis.
  • Support quarterly organizational internal audits for State finance and administration operations.
  • Develop and process organization payroll.
  • Post financial transactions into QuickBooks daily
  • Upload payment on online bank platform.
  • Support developing monthly and yearly financial reports for submission to the ED

Organizational Management:

  • Support development of organization and donor’s budget.
  • Provide technical support and supervision to the finance officers and finance assistance.
  • Support /refine accounting financial management tools in line with organization priorities annually.
  • Support in preparing organization budget.
  • Act on behalf of the team leader, finance and admin where and when necessary.
  • Undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time

Qualifications & Experience

  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance or its equivalent. CPA. ACA, ICAN or recognized equivalent is a requirement
  • At least 6 years post NYSC experience and professional qualification experience in budgeting, financial management and Finance, preferably with at least 3 years of NGO experience in a similar position
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to articulate results and recommendations of analysis to a variety of audiences within the organization (for example, laterally across peers, upwards to senior management).
  • Experience with word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • Strong sense of natural curiosity to study a problem and identify root causes, make logical connections/conclusions from scattered data.
  • Possess mentoring, leadership and soft skills including confidentiality and integrity.
  • Working knowledge of donor regulations, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) with strong financial accounting, modeling and analytic skills to ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis of information to management
  • High level of attention to details in all aspects of work responsibilities and Independent judgment and discretion in completing assignments
