Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the general finance operations in Hydrogen. This role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Job Description

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the finance department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial transactions and reporting.
  • Serve as a finance business partner, delivering performance reports and insights to support strategic decisions and drive performance.
  • Monitor cash flow, optimize working capital, and support treasury functions.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the holding company in line with group timelines and standards.
  • Lead and mentor finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Coordinate and lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including tax filings and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to develop financial strategies and plans to support the company's growth and profitability objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (ACA) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience in the payment services or fintech industry is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
