Learning Through Skills Acquisition Initiative (LETSAI) is a non-profit, non-governmental and charity organization established in June 2015. With the mission to offer literacy and social awareness, self-reliance and self-supported Community, community health and wealth liberation, Leadership development, Relief and Rehabilitation, Empowering women and encouraging gender equality. With the vision to create a new world where there is no caste, creed, race, patriarchy, Religion discrimination but only humanitarian ship and equality between genders. The Organization particularly targets vulnerable adolescent girls and boys, adult men and women, children and Geriatrics in other words the most vulnerable members of the society.

Job Title: Income Generating Activity (IGA) Officer

Job Summary

  • The IGA Officer will be supporting the implementation of the income-generating activities in line with donor requirements and the Learning through skills acquisition initiative (LETSAI) program strategy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize technical training on Income Generating Activities.
  • Monitor, follow up and regularly support each IGA.
  • Organize market linkages for IGAs.
  • Organize best performing IGA beneficiaries in groups to strengthen their capacity to interact with other actors of the value chain.
  • Participate in beneficiary profiling, beneficiary registration, and base line-end line assessments in liaison with the PMU of the project through technical review and guidance on data collection tools.
  • Document and compile reports on project activities including Monthly & Quarterly donor reports, internal reports (Project Activity Reports (APRs) and activity reports (meetings, and any other activity).
  • Support the establishment of a database for all project activities to regularly monitor and evaluate their activities.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly individual work plans of the IGA team and submit to the program manager for approval and implementation.
  • Organize material distribution to beneficiaries for startup of the IGAs.

Fiscal Responsibility:

  • Prepare monthly forecast, procurement requests to submit to PM for approval and implementation.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor's Degree (honors) in Economics, Business, Marketing, or any other relevant field.
  • Additionally, a Diploma in related studies with at least 5 years practical experience in a successful IGA related project shall be considered.
  • You are enthusiastically pursuing a career in Program implementation
  • Fluency in written and spoken Hausa
  • You must be physically fit and reliable, able to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding permit.
  • You have extensive knowledge in irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair. 
  • Ability to interact professionally with all customers, employees, and those from external organizations.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • You have previous work experience with a busy multi-sectoral setting/programming and in a refugee setting.
  • You have strong communication skills (written and oral) in English. HAUSA is a must
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently. 
  • Extremely flexible with the ability to cope with stressful situations.
  • Excellent reporting skills with good.
  • Culturally sensitive.
