Information and Communication Technology Officer at Environmental Development and Family Health Organization


Environmental Development and Family Health Organisation (EDFHO) was established and registered as a Non-Governmental Organization to promote the socio-economic development of the less privileged through an improved poverty alleviation program in Nigeria by providing its target groups (women, children, youths, and artisans) with the capacity to protect the environment and provide effective health services and economic empowerment for sustainable development. To achieve this, EDFHO adopted poverty reduction integrated programming which includes: Reproductive health, HIV / AIDS, Child, and Maternal health; Environment, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene promotion; Micro-credit for cooperative Agriculture and Enterprises development scheme for youths and women empowerment; and Mentorship, Capacity building, and consultancy services.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Information and Communication Technology Officer

Location: Ado Ekiti, Ekiti
Employment Type: Full-time

Roles

  • The ICT Officer must be technically skilled and have good problem-solving ability. The duties of an ICT Officer include uploading organization programs on website and social media platforms, being a reference point for all IT-related queries at the user level, responding to user needs on time, and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties.
  • He/She will install or upgrade components, set up software, assist with network administration, and resolve all IT support issues.

Main Responsibilities
The ICT Officer will be responsible for the following, including those not listed but are extensions of those expressly stated:

  • Identifying hardware and software solutions.
  • Supporting the roll-out of new applications
  • Providing support in the form of procedural documentation.
  • Compiling and writing organization annual reports
  • Troubleshooting technical issues
  • Ensuring regular updates on the organization's website and social media spaces
  • Be responsible for the organization’s social media handles
  • Diagnosing and repairing ICT faults.
  • Resolving network issues.
  • Installing and configuring hardware and software
  • Speaking to staff to quickly get to the root of their problems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
  • Evidence of strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to follow and develop processes
  • Evidence of good organizational, analytical, oral, and written communication skills in English; and ability to work well in teams
  • Committed to the organizational mission and values.
  • Demonstrate experience working in IT operations at a similar level
  • Experience of working in the NGO sector
  • Good knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Good knowledge of networking technologies and systems – Internet, LAN switches, wireless access points, and VPNs
