International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Vacancy for Head of Security, Abuja

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) - Since its creation in 1863, the ICRC's sole objective has been to ensure protection and assistance for victims of armed conflict and strife. It does so through its direct action around the world, as well as by encouraging the development of
international humanitarian law (IHL) and promoting respect for it by governments and all weapon bearers. Its story is about the development of humanitarian action, the Geneva Conventions and the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

The ICRC delegation in Nigeria is looking for a qualified and motivated candidate with the capacity to work independently to fill in the position below:

Job Title: Head of Security

Location: Abuja

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the Head of Delegation, to manage the security policy of the ICRC delegation in Nigeria.
• To supervise staff of the external security companies hired by the ICRC.
• To conduct regular security surveys and analysis.
• To be available for duty service on 24/24 hour basis in cases of severe emergencies.
• To advise, train and coach ICRC staff members, dependents and participants in trainings.
• To establish, revise and implement security guidelines and regulations and ensure the compliance with them.
• To manage at operational level security related issues and to ensure their proper follow up.
• To liaise with other organisations and institutions.

• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a similar function with excellent performance.
• Excellent computer and writing skills.
• Valid driving license.
• Certificate of good conduct.
