We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Machine Operator

Location: Ogba, Lagos
Job Schedule: Full time

About the job

• Safety, Health and environment: Drives a progressive safety culture in his shift, with emphasis on identifying and eliminating dangerous situations and acting immediately if required.
• Supervises all staff and visitors during his shift to comply with the applicable area instructions on use of PPE, LOTOTO and Work Permits and makes sure all staff follow life saving rules.
• Expected to spend 70% of his time on the shop floor to drive right mentality and behavior
• Product Quality: Ensures compliance of operators and quality inspectors according to (standard operating) procedures and work instructions, to ensure full in line control of quality during his shift.
• Checks that all checklists and logbooks are updated with quality data.
• Responsible for the quality of output produced during his shift
• Productivity and Service: Ensures the production plan for each sku is met at the highest possible Production Plan Conformance by monitoring output and planning right change over moments.
• Coordinates with other departments (engineering, quality) during his shift to escalate challenges immediately and deliver the right quantity and quality output4.
• Hygiene and Housekeeping: Is responsible for good housekeeping and sanitary practices during his shift, by making sure the work place is kept in line with GMP.
• Enforces compliance with standards of cleaning and organization on the shop floor.
• Reporting: Prepares input for production reports in accordance with company procedures and work instructions and ensures recordkeeping on the production lines is done appropriately during his shift.
• Ensures handover between shifts is done by himself, as well as at the respective line boards within his section
• Cost Control: Keeps track of material losses from the production process.
• Also monitors actual hours worked during his shift in relation to standard production manning during his shift
• Human Resources: Build and improve capabilities of his team members in order to keep up with required standards for Safety, Quality and Productivity, as well as personal development.
• Conducts performance management of subordinates in line with company procedure to maximize their development and initiates interchangeability and succession planning for his team6.
