Sule Lamido University (formerly Jigawa State University), Kafin Hausa was established by the Jigawa State Government in May 2013. It is the 39th State-Owned University licenced by the National Universities Commission (NUC). This is to inform the general public that the Governing Council of the University has declared the Office of the University Librarian vacant. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of: Job Title: University Librarian Location: Jigawa Responsibilities

• Statutorily, the University Librarian is a Principal Officer responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the University Library Services.
• The officer is also responsible for the implementation of the policy of the University with respect to the development of the Library Services centrally and at the levels of Faculties, Departments and Academic Units.

Qualifications Candidates shall possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Ability to provide good Leadership to subordinates and be of sound moral character;
• A relevant Ph.D. degree;
• A good record of scholarly publications in reputable Journals and other media;
• Shall be on the rank of a Deputy University Librarian or equivalent in the Tertiary Education System;
• Shall have a minimum of 15 years cognate experience and the capacity to initiate research; and
• Shall not be above the age of 60 at the point of assumption of duty.
• A good knowledge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), including Library Automation;

Conditions of Service

• The salary and other conditions of services shall be in accordance with what is obtainable in the Nigerian University System.
