The Nigerian Institute of Journalism is the foremost school of journalism in Nigeria which specializes in the training of Journalist and professionals in the field of Journalism. The Institute has been in existence since 1963 and became fully operational in 1971. With over fifty (50) years of existence and in the business of training and re-training Journalist, the Institute remains the best stop for anyone who has interest and wants to venture into mass communication.

The Institute offers programs in National Diploma, Higher Diploma and specialized programs as well as short term certificate courses. The Institution has state of the art equipments in teaching practical for 21st Century journalism. Its selling edge is the Institution's ability to take on hands practical for all its courses with seasoned and renowned lecturers both in academics and those in the field practicing. The Institute has well equipped labs for practicing journalism, it has a fully equipped ICT hub with 24 hour’s internet access, a functional radio and TV studio, Editing laboratory and photo studio.

We are recruiting to fill the positions below:

 

Job Title: Lecturer II - CONTISS 9

Location: Lagos

Qualifications / Experience

• A Master's Degree in Computer Science from a recognized University. 
• Possession of professional I.T qualification(s) with six years teaching/research experience.
• Membership of a relevant professional body will be an added advantage.

 

Job Title: Lecturer I (English)

Location: Lagos

Qualification / Experience

• The candidate must possess a Ph.D in English Language from a recognized institution or Master's Degree with at least eight years teaching experience.
• A minimum of five scholarly publications in recognized academic journals and membership of relevant professional body will be an added advantage.

Job Title: Lecturer I (Broadcast Option)

Location: Lagos

Qualification / Experience

• The candidate must possess a Ph.D in Mass Communication or a Master's degree plus at least eight years teaching experience.
• A minimum of five scholarly publications in recognized academic journals and membership of relevant professional body will be an added advantage.

Job Title: Admin Officer - CONTISS 8

Location: Lagos

Qualifications / Experience

• A Master's Degree in Library and Information Science with at least eight years cognate experience, especially in tertiary institution library, is required.
• The ideal candidate must be familiar with the use of contemporary library software, have excellent computer skills, and be social media compliant.
• A minimum of five scholarly publications will be an added advantage.
• To be responsible for Mass Communication based programmes development and execution.
• The candidate must possess at least a Higher National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication/Communication Arts or related disciplines with three years experience in programme administration.
• Membership of a relevant professional body will be an added advantage.

 

Job Title: Lecturer I

Location: Lagos

Qualification / Experience

• The candidate must possess a Ph.D in Mass Communication from a recognized institution or a Master's degree in Mass Communication with at least eight years of teaching /research experience.
• Minimum of five scholarly publications in recognized academic journals and membership of relevant professional body will be an added advantage.

Job Title: Executive / Personal Assistant - CONTISS 8

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

• To assist the Provost in coordinating all administrative and secretarial duties in the office. 
• He/She will also take responsibilities as assigned by the Provost from time to time. 
• The Candidate should be able to work with minimum supervision.

Qualifications / Experience

• The candidate must possess at least a Higher National Diploma/ First degree in Social Science /Humanities/Business Administration or its equivalent with at least three years cognate experience and be skilled in ICT. 
• Membership of relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage

 

Job Title: Auditor - CONTISS 8

Location: Lagos

Qualifications / Experience

• HND or BSc Degree in Accounting or Finance with professional certification (e.g. CPA, ICAN) with at least 3 years cognate experience.

 

Job Title: Accountant II - CONTISS 7

Location: Lagos

Qualifications / Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting with at least one year experience. 
• Professional certification will be an added advantage.

 

Job Title: Motor Driver / Mechanic - CONTISS 6

Location: Lagos

Qualification / Experience

• The candidate must possess Government Trade Test Grade I with a minimum of nine years post-qualification cognate experience.

 

Job Title: Principal Librarian - CONTISS 11

Location: Lagos

Qualifications / Experience

• A Master's Degree in Library and Information Science with at least eight years cognate experience, especially in tertiary institution library, is required. 
• The ideal candidate must be familiar with the use of contemporary library software and have excellent computer skills, and be social media compliant.
• A minimum of five scholarly publications will be an added advantage.
