We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Operations Technical Support (GAUGING) Services Officer - Forcados Terminal
Location: Nigeria
Start Date: 1st March 2025
Roles and Responsibilities
- Operator of Oil terminal assets in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with stipulated guidelines.
- Manage day-to-day production operations field activities and manage safety and environmental issues.
- Monitor, control and record production rates and performance.
- Perform basic troubleshooting on facilities to ensure stability.
- Optimized effluent quality of produced water for environmentally safe discharge.
- Support collation of production/ flare daily report data
- Responsible for process isolation etc., for day-to-day maintenance work.
- Perform daily check and minor maintenance based on the check list etc.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team on assigned tasks and activities.
- Take requested samples for Lab analyses.
- Participate in monthly HSSE-SP meeting and daily toolbox meeting.
- Raise unsafe act and unsafe condition (UA/UC).
- Perform daily first line monitoring of process parameters and variables.
- Ensure optimized chemical injection rates are followed as advised.
- Observe local instruments, gauges, and meters to verify conformance to standard operating practice.
- Responsible for preparing equipment for maintenance including isolation, draining, and other procedures as required.
- Execute routine production and maintenance operations and minor non-routine production and Maintenance activities as directed by his Team Supervisor
Job Qualifications
- Education: Academics Trade Cert (IVQ) / OND / HND / B.Sc.
- Work Experience:
- 4 to 8yrs hands-on experience in CRO/Field Production Operations.
- Experience in Shell terminal operations (Preferably Forcados Terminal) is a strong prerequisite.
- This includes handling of crude export operations and good acquaintance, operation, and support maintenance of decades old
- installed equipment in the terminal.
- Ability to work with a multi-discipline production team.
Key Skills:
- Handling of crude export operations liaising with multi-disciplines.
- Accurately calculate export volumes, process export documentation, interfaces with regulators and Government Agents,
- Accurately carryout Fiscalisation of Crude Storage Tanks for Before and After Shipment Analysis
- Support Cargo Preparation through accurate gauging/dipping and sampling for TMB & Composite Analysis
- Support Interface management on the Fixed Roof Tanks through routine Interface checks for Crude Dehydration Tanks & Skim Tanks.
- Shell certified Authorized gas tester
- Shell certified Designated First Aider
- Experienced Shell certified Process Isolator
- Soft Skills Strong Communication & interpersonal relationship skills
- Proficiency in Onsite risk management.
- Proficiency in the use of Permit-To Work System (PTW e-Vision)
- Proficiency in the use of SAP tool
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Tools.
- Proficiency in the use of Universal Tag Tool (UTL)
- Proficiency in the use of PI Manual logger for Front Line Maintenance (FLM) reporting.
- Facility safety enforcement including Risk identification/mitigation, work crew communication and buddy system.
- Knowledge in safe work practices and use of SOPs
- Experience in operations of field Control and safeguarding systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic) including sensors, transmitters, actuators and valves.
- Interpretation of process engineering flow schemes and process drawings.

Note
Work Cycle:
- Successful candidate will hit the ground running working on a mix of equipment most over two decades old with less OEM support but on gradual upgrade.
- The work location is Swamp-field based accessible via the Helicopter/ Boat.
- The job activity period is daily on 12-hour (7am to7pm) routine over a 21-day period.
- There is a standard 3weeks on and 3weeks off schedule but subject to variations.
- The successful candidate will manage own absences with his/her contractor for suitable qualified covers.
- The successful candidate is expected to be Port Harcourt/Warri based.
- There may be need for periodic visits to Shell industrial area for trainings and official assignments.
- Personnel may be required to work extended hours / days as need may arises
