Job Title: Plant Manager (Cement, Construction Chemicals, Paints, FMCG)

Location: Arepo (Lagos-Ibadan), Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

  • Computer literacy (SAP, CRM, Ms-Office) Oversee and guide the plans that ensure that all our factories in the Nigerian market, excluding perform in accordance with the accepted standards and benchmarks as defined by the organization. This includes but is not limited to safety, efficiency, process and other engineering standards defined by the group.
  • Ensure that the factory staff are well educated on the importance of safety standards, and therefore work towards a risk free and zero accident environment. Through the plant managers, ensure that the safety culture improves and adherence to safety guidelines/ rules and procedures occurs
  • Work with the plants to ensure that they have the right balance of skills/ structure/ people capability in place that will progress the performance of our factories. Furthermore, ensure that the plant managers drive defined continuous development initiatives of their people within the plants
  • Ensure adherence to Quality, Environmental Health and Safety requirements of the Organization
  • Accountable for the meeting and exceeding of operational performance and financial targets as set by the Managing Director/Business Development Manager
  • Continually monitor and review manufacturing performance against agreed objectives and take necessary actions where appropriate
  • Ensure that there is a clear set of action plans for each departmental target with clear resources and budgets to achieve.
  • Be aware of and where appropriate contribute to business plans
  • Review with the Business Development Manager the future requirements of the site including the process to introduce new technology. Also set out the engineering and capital investment requirements of the site as part of the overall business plan.
  • With a deep commitment to collaborative working, s/he will work in partnership across the organisation to set ambitious goals and deliver sustainable business success.
  • Whilst demanding compliance and rigour in our management processes and control systems, s/he will have a risk-balanced approach to trying new things, promoting the ability to fail and learn quickly
  • S/he will be solution oriented with a deep commitment to continuous improvement aligned with the needs of both our internal and external customers.
  • Develop plans to improve the sites manufacturing and technical performance
  • Liaise with the other departments to ensure that finance targets, delivery schedules, quality and market needs are achieved

Requirements

  • Degree in Production / Engineering discipline
  • Environmental Qualification or Experience
  • Management Qualification

Specific work experience, knowledge and skills required to fulfil the role:

  • 5 - 7 years’ Demonstrable experience, ideally but not limited, experience within manufacturing environment.
  • Budgeting
  • Thorough knowledge of business process (forecasting, sales reports, presentation skills, supply chain)
  • Assertive, well spoken with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving logic.

  • Experience in a continuous manufacturing, process or production environment
