Job Description

• The Procurement Officer is to manage the company’s supply of products and services. Procurement Officer responsibilities include strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers.
• The Procurement Officer’s duty is to discover the best ways to cut procurement expenses so that the company can invest in growth and people.

Responsibilities

• Source for reliable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
• Initiate negotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms
• Obtain and finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
• Research potential vendors and build vendor database
• Control spending and build a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs
• Maintaining and Reviewing Records of Bought Items
• Collaboration with Suppliers to Agreeing Upon Policies
• Maintain insurance schedule and ensure consistent coverage on all our insurance policies
• Booked/Post all the Vendor invoice
• Review quality of purchased products
• Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery
• Ensure vendor compliance and registration
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve the effectiveness
• Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
• Receive items and check the quality, quantity, and other parameters against quotations, purchase orders, and/or contracts
• Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
• Anticipate unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
• Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses.

Skills and Requirements

• Relevant Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration or any relevant experience.
• 3 to 5 years post-qualification experience in a relevant field
• Must be able to work effectively with all levels of Management
• Interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.
• Must have strong analytical skills, including the ability to extract, compile and analyze data.
• Strong communications skills; both verbal and written
• Progressive responsibilities in the delivery and management of procurement and supply chain services, logistics and assets management
• Proficient in the use of computer applications and systems
• Must have demonstrated leadership and management skills.

Salary
N2,500,000 Annual gross.
