Job Title: Product Designer

About the Role

• As a Product Designer at Carbon, you will play a pivotal role in designing and enhancing financial products that empower small businesses and underserved communities.
• You will work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver intuitive, customer-centric digital solutions.
• Your design solutions will contribute to improving the overall user experience (UX) and driving the bank's mission to provide accessible financial services.

Responsibilities
In this role, the Product Designer would be expected to:

• Identify research opportunities on the product, brand, and marketing designs.
• You are comfortable working daily using tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
•  Be familiar with project management tools like Jira and Gitlab.
• Contribute to improving our set of visual standards and documentation for our products.
• Design ancillary visual materials including infographics, presentation graphics, and iconography.
• Updating and improving existing design assets/systems.
• Create mockups, wireframes, and prototypes for products and websites.
• Work directly with the product and engineering teams to ensure products are optimized for existing users and are being built for future users.

Requirements
Successful applicants in this role would typically have:

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in visual and product design
• Expert knowledge of design tools including Figma, Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), or related products such as Sketch & Invision
• Experience designing and implementing complex User Interfaces
• Experience creating abstract illustrations
• Understanding of usability and user interaction principles
• Strong stakeholder management skills.

Additionally, the following would make you more attractive:

• Extensive experience with design collaboration and prototyping tools (InVision, Sketch, Balsamiq, etc).
• Experience performing user research to understand the user experience.
• Experience working with data visualization, graphs, charts, and dashboards.
• A neat and comprehensive body of work.
• Experience performing usability tests.
