Initiative for Improved Humanity Foundation (IHF) responds to humanitarian crises, helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 2021, but duly registered with CAC 2023, IHF was borne out of the burden to improve lives of the downtrodden; especially women and children who are usually the most vulnerable in the society, and to impact on humanity in general. IHF offers lifesaving cares and also life changing assistance to the less-privileged in the society. With interventions in over 40 communities in Abuja and with plans on expanding her humanitarian works to other states in Nigeria and globally. IHF restores sense of dignity and spark ray of hope to millions who are despondent. IHF advances the way from harm to home.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

 

Job Title: Program Officer

Location: Life Camp, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Major Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day implementation of IHF programs in the assigned state.
  • Support the implementation of activities led in line with the thematic areas, while involving all the key stakeholders such as relevant government institutions, traditional, community leaders and other appropriate actors.
  • Support the facilitation and implementation of all programmatic activities and the facilitation of events related to advocacy and relationship-building initiatives.
  • Liaise frequently with implementing partners, program beneficiaries, key actors, religious leaders and represent IHF at relevant meetings in the assigned state.
  • Undertakes other assigned responsibilities that support all IHF’s teams.
  • Submit monthly program updates including success stories.
  • The program officer will be working closely with other state-based program teams, the communications team, MEL team, GESI teams, Finance and Sub-award teams, Operations team, Safety/Security teams to ensure that activities implementation are according to plan, schedule, budget and required quality.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or any related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing project programmatic component.
  • Demonstrated Managerial/Leadership Competencies
  • Knowledge, skills and experience in consensus building and partnerships.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication and facilitation skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle a large and dynamic workload, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent database, data management and data analysis skills such as Microsoft Excel, Access, Ms Word and PowerPoint etc.
  • Demonstrated and progressive ability for creative and flexible program design and implementation.
  • Ability to facilitate a dialogue, conduct strong training and capacity-building experience.
  • Effective oral, written communication and reporting skills in English Language.
  • Strong commitment to IHF’s mission, purpose and values.
