Job Summary
- We are seeking a Project Quality Coordinator who will oversee the quality assurance and quality control processes for installing mini-grid systems.
- This role involves ensuring that all installation activities meet the required standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements while promoting best practices within the team.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management plan for mini-grid installations.
- Define quality metrics and establish benchmarks for project performance.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess compliance with quality standards.
- Review installation processes and identify areas for improvement.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
- Prepare regular quality reports for stakeholders, outlining findings and recommendations.
Training and Development:
- Provide training to installation team members on quality standards and best practices.
- Facilitate workshops to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Liaise with project managers, site leads, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality objectives.
- Act as a point of contact for quality-related inquiries and concerns.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure adherence to local, national, and international standards and regulations related to mini-grid installations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in quality standards.
Problem Solving:
- Investigate and resolve quality issues and discrepancies promptly.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to avoid recurrence of issues.
Required Skills & Attributes
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 4 – 7 years Proven experience in quality control/assurance, preferably in renewable energy or electrical installations.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and methodologies (e.g., ISO standards).
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and practices in the field.
- Commitment to ensuring a safe work environment for all team members.
- Awareness of local customs and practices, especially in diverse project locations.
- Strong eyesight to conduct detailed inspections and identify potential issues.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.
- Excellent analytical, proactiveness and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Enthusiasm for promoting best practices in quality management.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to walk or traverse uneven terrain at installation sites.
- Climbing ladders and accessing elevated areas for site assessments.
- Lifting and carrying equipment or tools
- Potential for irregular schedules, including weekends and evenings.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, rain, cold).
- Working in remote or rugged environments, which may require travel.
- Ability to navigate construction sites and understand site layouts.
- Assisting in the setup and inspection of installations as needed.
- Willingness to work long hours, especially during critical project phases.
Salary
NGN300,000 - NGN600,000 / Month based on experience.
