Job Summary

  • We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Purchase Officer to collaborate closely with our Procurement Head in managing procurement operations for our retail pharmacy and in-store grocery department.

Job Description

  • As a Purchase Officer at Mopheth, you will be a key player in ensuring the smooth and cost-effective supply of pharmaceutical and grocery products to meet our customers' diverse needs.
  • Your role involves working closely with the Procurement Head to oversee vendor relationships, develop procurement strategies, ensure quality assurance, and maintain compliance for both pharmacy and grocery operations.

Key Responsibilities
Vendor Management:

  • Assist in identifying, evaluating, and maintaining relationships with pharmaceutical suppliers, wholesalers, and grocery product vendors.
  • Support negotiations for favorable terms, pricing, and delivery conditions that benefit both parties.
  • Ensure vendors adhere to stringent quality standards and product authenticity for both pharmacy and grocery items.

Procurement Strategy:

  • Collaborate with the Procurement Head to develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with the goals and budgets of the pharmacy and grocery departments.
  • Participate in the planning process to meet inventory needs and accurately forecast demand for both sectors.

Purchase Order Management:

  • Coordinately prepare and process purchase orders with meticulous attention to detail for both pharmacy and grocery items.
  • Validate purchase requisitions, ensuring completeness and compliance with pharmacy and grocery store protocols.
  • Proactively manage order status, monitor deliveries, and address backorders for both sectors.

Quality Assurance:

  • Support the enforcement of robust quality control measures to guarantee product safety, efficacy, and freshness in both pharmacy and grocery items.
  • Assist in addressing product quality concerns with suppliers and coordinating returns or replacements as needed.
  • Maintain thorough records of product inspections and quality assessments for both sectors.

Cost Management:

  • Collaborate with the Procurement Head to negotiate pricing, terms, and volume discounts that optimize cost-effectiveness for pharmaceutical and grocery items.
  • Contribute to the assessment of supplier performance and identify cost-saving opportunities in both sectors.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that all procurement activities adhere to pharmaceutical industry regulations and grocery industry guidelines for both pharmacy and grocery operations.
  • Stay informed about industry-specific regulatory changes and best practices relevant to pharmacy and grocery procurement.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and communications, meticulously documented for both sectors.
  • Collaborate in generating informative reports on procurement metrics, inventory levels, and product performance for pharmacy and grocery products.

Qualifications

  • Preferred qualifications include an HND, ND, or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years work experience.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience as a Purchase Officer or in a similar procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
