Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Description

• You will work on-site to manage the cost of projects by ensuring that costs are kept within the budget, by using cost-effective methods while still meeting all quality and safety requirements.
• You will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing cost estimates, and planning and reviewing cost reports throughout the project cycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors.Analyze project specifications and drawings to identify potential cost-saving measures.
• Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks related to cost and provide strategies for risk mitigation.Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
• Cost Monitoring: Monitor project costs against budget, identifying and addressing any deviations.Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and validate costs.
• Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for construction projects, tracking costs and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle.Provide regular financial reports to project stakeholders.
• Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts, ensuring that both parties adhere to contractual obligations.Handle variations and claims, resolving disputes in a fair and timely manner.
• Value Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to identify opportunities for value engineering, proposing cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3 - 5 years experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional certification in Quantity Surveying or related field is a plus
• Cost Control, Cost Planning, and Cost Management skills.
• Experience in creating Bills of Quantities (BoQ)
• Cost Reporting skills
• Knowledge of construction regulations and safety standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
