Sonia Foods Industries is one of the leading tomato products processing factories in West Africa. Its headquarter is located in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, KM 39. The company produces Tomato Mix, Peppe & Onion Tomato Seasoning Mix, Curry Powder and Thyme Leaves, under the brand name Sonia.
The factory is located in Ikorodu Shagamu Express Road, Onigbagbe/Sotubo Village, Shagamu Ogun State, Nigeria.

Job Title: Regional Sales Manager (RSM)

Job Description

• The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will be responsible for leading and managing the sales operations within the South-South region of Nigeria. The role requires a proven leader with a strong background in sales strategy, market development, team leadership, and distributor management.
• The RSM will drive revenue growth, build strong customer and distributor relationships, and ensure consistent achievement of sales targets across the assigned region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve and exceed company sales targets.
• Lead, motivate, and manage the regional sales team to deliver on objectives, ensuring capability development and high performance.
• Identify and expand business opportunities by building strong relationships with distributors, key accounts, and trade partners.
• Drive promotional and trade marketing initiatives within the region in collaboration with the marketing team.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing guidelines, and business ethics.
• Provide leadership in resolving market challenges, customer complaints, and operational issues within the region.
• Support succession planning by coaching and developing regional sales talent.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on regional sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
• Oversee effective distribution, merchandising, and market penetration strategies across all sales channels.
• Ensure proper territory coverage, route-to-market execution, and adherence to sales processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is an added advantage).
• Minimum of 10 years’ progressive sales experience in FMCG or related industries.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make sound business decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
• At least 3 years’ proven experience as a Regional Sales Manager or equivalent role.
• Strong knowledge of the South-South Nigeria market with established relationships is an added advantage.
• Demonstrated success in managing distributors, key accounts, and sales teams.
