Standard Bearers School (SBS) was established at a time when the educational system in Nigeria was going through a difficult phase. While there seemed to be a proliferation of schools at the time, quality standards were fast diminishing. SBS opened its doors on January 7th, 1997 with a small group of committed teachers and a few pupils. The idea to establish SBS was borne out of the desire of the founder to create a school where academic and creative talents were given similar priorities.

Job Title: Grade 3 Teacher

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • Teach assigned subjects to first grade students according to curriculum plan.
  • Coordinate with other first grade teachers to maintain consistency in curriculum.
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional ideas according to school standards.
  • Motivate students to participate in various educational activities.
  • Develop creative learning opportunities for student’s education, social and behavioral growth.
  • Interact with parents to inform about their children’s academic progress.
  • Create positive, structured, learning and safe environment for students.
  • Develop and maintain student behavioral and discipline policies.
  • Coordinate with other staffs to evaluate and enhance curricular programmes for student academic excellence.
  • Accommodate different learning styles and instruction methodology for English language learners and special education students.
  • Use different assessment methods to evaluate student progress, their academic strengths and weaknesses.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and grade records for each student.
  • Assist in planning and implementing school programs and other activities.
  • Develop positive parent teacher relationship and promote parent teacher partnerships.
  • Monitor student activities in school premise and ensure safety of every student in the classroom and school grounds.
  • Attend educational trainings and workshops for professional growth.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be a hardworking and enthusiastic professional with excellent subject knowledge.
  • Candidates must possess first Degree preferably in Education and the relevant teaching subject (B.Sc. Ed/B.Ed./PGCE).
  • Candidates with Masters Degrees in Education have an advantage.
  • Candidates with teaching experience in an international school environment are preferred.
  • Candidates must possess at least 2-5 years of cognate experience.
  • Possess above average writing and oral skills with excellent interpersonal, organizational and team skills.
  • Candidate must be committed to helping children learn effectively in a secured environment.
  • Must be an enthusiastic, imaginative and energetic individual capable of gaining the full potential from each child.
  • Must be computer savvy, well groomed with the use of Microsoft Teams, Zoom and other learning platforms
  • Teacher must have good writing and oral skills as this will be tested.
  • Candidate must be able to build children’s vocabulary
  • Candidate must have a good diction.

Job Title: Nursery 1 Teacher

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Description

  • SBS Lekki is seeking to engage a well groomed and experienced Nursery and early Year’s teachers to contribute to nurturing and developing the knowledge, abilities, and social skills of children from three to five years old in the school. Candidate would also help in preparing them for primary school education.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Organizing and supervising play and work activities (for example reading, music, playtime, and circle). Developing and implementing lessons and work schemes, using the Early Years Foundation Stage as a framework.
  • Liaising with parents, guardians, school administrator, and phonologist. Providing a safe and stimulating environment that facilitates learning time, dancing maintaining records.
  • Monitoring and recording progress of each child. We require the teacher to be an enthusiastic, imaginative and energetic individual capable of gaining the full potential from each child.

Requirements
Educational Qualification / Background:

  • Must have early years teacher status (EYTS).
  • Must have a degree in Education or a minimum of NCE / HND / B.Sc / B.Ed in related discipline. Other professional qualification is an added advantage.
  • Candidate must possess GCSEs (at least grade C) or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
  • Must have training and certifications in phonics.
  • Candidate must be a female and must be committed, long standing and passionate Nursery or EYTS Early Years teacher. She will be responsible for building and nurturing Early Years pupils.
  • She must be a young lady between with soft and smart skills.
  • Candidate must be committed to helping children learn effectively in a secured environment.
  • Must be an enthusiastic, imaginative and energetic individual capable of gaining the full potential from each child.

Job Title: School Technician / Site Supervisor

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • We are seeking a technician who will manage, direct, and install electrical wiring and installation for all building projects. In this position, you will work with contractors, builders, and architects, and will install and maintain electrical wiring systems, circuitry, and follow safety practices and standards codes to meet high-quality standards.
  • You will review and compare pricing, document materials needed and used, and track changes to plans.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze electrical systems in the school
  • Collaborate with facility manager and engineers to determine the best placement of electrical wiring
  • Test devices for improvement, safety, and quality control
  • Update older electrical systems for changes, cost reductions, improvements, safety, and quality control
  • Repair broken equipment and wiring in the school
  • Perform and analyze tests to track results and make improvements
  • Work with builders and make recommendations
  • Perform calibrations for wire placement and electronic components
  • Responsible for all required electrical qualification tests on projects and ensure compliance with all outside parties involved
  • Participate in test runs and meet safety regulations
  • Modify systems to be environmentally friendly
  • Monitors and supervise power plant maintenance
  • Monitor all site electrical activities and give daily, weekly and monthly reports
  • inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
  • Repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
  • Plan and schedule repairs.
  • Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree / OND / HND qualification with 3 - 7 years work experience.

  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Excellent communicator; able to understand instructions and communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal property and safety regulations
