Job Title: Team Member - Tax Management

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Objective

• Responsible for the Company’s tax compliance, tax planning and accounting for income taxes.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for completion of federal, international and state income tax returns, including all related analysis and support.
• Oversight of the tax returns for the Company’s international subsidiaries.
• Responsible for use and property tax functions.
• Liaison with operating management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues.
• Ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for income taxes.
• Departmental liaison with IT staff on all technical matters relating to tax applications.
• Assisting the VP Treasurer with tax planning issues as required.
• Responsible for audits of federal and state income tax and state and local filings.
• Coordination of accounting for income taxes for international subsidiaries with third-party vendors.

Key Performance Indicators

• Level of company compliance with tax laws.
• Error-free tax reports percentage

Requirements

• Minimum educational level – Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or Humanities, or HND with a Master’s Degree
• Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
• Prior experience in tax strategy implementation, planning support and project
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and meticulous
• Independent worker who is able to work well with minimal supervision.
• Minimum requisite experience – 10 – 15 years of working experience in the accounting field
• Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
• Knowledge of tax software and MS Office
