Job Title: Facilities Manager

Location: Benin City, Edo

Job Description

  • The school Facilities manager is responsible for the security, maintenance, and services of work facilities to ensure that they meet the needs of the organisation and its employees.
  • Overseeing and agreeing on contracts and providers for services including security, parking, cleaning, etc.
  • Supervising multi-disciplinary teams of staff including cleaning, maintenance, grounds, and security.
  • Ensuring that basic facilities ( school buildings ) and amenities such as water, electricity, and generator are well-maintained.
  • Managing budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Allocating and managing space between buildings.
  • Ensuring that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards.
  • Advising Management on increasing energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Overseeing building projects, renovations, or refurbishments
  • Drafting reports and making written recommendations.
  • Any other work assigned by the Principal or Vice-Principal Admin.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc / BA in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration or relevant field.
  • Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Good analytical/critical thinking
  • Relevant professional qualification will be an advantage.

Job Title: IT Manager

Location: Benin City, Edo

Job Description
The role is responsible for overseeing the IT Services Department including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Respond optimistically and strategically to the changing ICT educational sector by providing advice to the Senior Leadership Team regarding ICT infrastructure improvement;
  • Investigate and implement hardware, software, and ICT infrastructure, in consultation with the Vice Principal Admin, that is sustainable and responsive to the needs of the school community and in line with the School’s ICT Strategic Plan;
  • Devise, document, and maintain ICT policies and procedures that ensure operational (business) continuity and compliance with relevant requirements.
  • Manage and optimize administrative systems – School information (TAS, TrackOne, Web portals, and Integrum), domain services (Active Directory and Azure) including SSO, security, printers, backup, analytics, communication, and business systems
  • Sustain a 1:1 technology program of managed endpoints for staff, junior and senior school students and a technology program that meets the needs of staff and students in Junior school;
  • Implement and manage the School's ICT infrastructure and systems within the approved budget and resource allocations;
  • Lead an environment in which high-quality services are delivered to staff, students, parents, and volunteers of the school;
  • Manage the appointment and relationship of strategic partnerships with ICT hardware, software, and service vendors;
  • Co-ordinate security and risk management for information managed by, and on behalf of, the School; Apply a management framework to IT Services projects;
  • Supervise IT Service Centre staff and their ongoing schedule of work;
  • Be an exemplary professional role model for staff and students;
  • Maintain a leadership position in ICT activities in the sector;
  • Initiate and access appropriate professional development for the IT Services team;
  • Communicate with staff, students and parents on any ICT queries that need to be addressed.
  • The IT Manager is responsible for the following administrative tasks, but not limited to:
  • Develop and present budgetary needs and expenses of the IT Services department to the Vice Principal Admin.
  • Manage the allocation and monitoring of ICT resources and prepare appropriate timely reports;
  • Manage third party vendors to organise warranty and repairs of ICT equipment, negotiating resolutions where appropriate;
  • Undertake high level planning and/or implementation of policies and programs relating to operating systems, storage and networks;
  • Build and create a professional development environment, enhancing the technical and client facing skills of the IT Services team to achieve strategic goals in line with the Support Staff Appraisal process;
  • Coach IT Services staff, priorities work to meet outcomes, monitor workloads, review progress of projects and provide feedback where necessary to staff.
  • Additional duties as allocated by the Vice Principal Admin, Principal or Senior Leadership Team.

Qualifications

  • This position requires an employee who has acquired a high level of skills and knowledge in order to provide professional advice in the role and area of expertise;
  • At least three years’ experience in a Senior Systems Administrator role;
  • Appropriate experience in the field;
  • Possession of IS/IT tertiary qualifications;
  • Current industry-based certificates that relate to the School’s system is essential. Essential
  • Current Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) qualification;
  • Experience in managing wired and wireless enterprise grade network topologies and firewalls;
  • Experience in managing Office 365 and the integration with onsite Student Information Systems or equivalent;
  • Understanding of server and client operating systems and applications used in school settings, including SSO, Exchange;
  • Experience in managing software deployment;
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in networking, hardware & software;
  • High level of knowledge of School Portals; Possess a high level of organisational and interpersonal skills;
  • An effective communicator with all stakeholders;
  • An ability to lead staff and build capacity;
  • Have the ability to find solutions through creative thinking and collaboration;
  • Have a service ethic;
  • A willingness to be a member of a team and to work collegially with other staff members;
  • High level of professional standards and conduct.

Job Title: Head of Primary School

Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Strategic Direction and Development of the Primary school- in co-operation with, the principal.
  • Clear understanding of the Montessori Curriculum
  • Ensure all Primary Teaching staff are committed to the school’s aims and are motivated.
  • Maintain and promote an effective partnership with Primary pupil’s parents to support and improve pupil’s achievement and personal development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in primary school.
  • Promote and maintain an environment within the primary school that secures high standards of planning, organization, teaching, learning, behaviour and achievement.
  • Monitor and review the deployment of primary school staff such that the learning needs of groups and individual pupils are met.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the primary school, and regularly present coherent and accurate accounts to inform the school evaluation process and its stakeholders.
  • Ensure systems are in place for the performance management of primary school staff and that their effectiveness is monitored.
  • Maintain and develop the primary school extended curriculum and extra-curricular activities to foster an exciting learning environment.
  • Work closely with the Head of secondary school to ensure that all expectations, standards, procedures and systems are built on throughout the school and provide a natural progression for pupils and staff between the two schools.
  • Ensure that parents and pupils are well informed about the curriculum, attainment and progress towards their targets.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor in Education, other relevant fields are also welcome.
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in Administration and Teaching
  • Desirable: Diploma in Montessori Education 
  • A desire to work with children.
  • Advanced Degree/ training/ or evidence of continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft word, excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to work well under pressure.
