Action Against Hunger works to save lives by combating hunger and diseases that threaten the lives of vulnerable communities, through nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health and advocacy. We are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: WASH Assistant Locations: Damasak and Maiduguri, Borno Location: Full Time Slot: 3 Job Summary

• The positions are based in Damasak and Maiduguri respectively in Borno State and report to the WASH Officer.
• The WASH Assistant is responsible for providing technical contribution to drilling and construction of the WASH project activities within the framework of the emergency response program in Northeast, Nigeria.

• Daily supervision of water and sanitation construction activities including preparing technical design and bills of quantities.
• Train and build the capacity of staffs and partners.
• Coordinate with internal staff and local stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation.
• Liaise closely with the WASH Officer throughout the planning, design and implementation stages of the WASH technical activities. Hygiene promotion is a vital element in such infrastructure activities, especially in cholera responses.

• Previous experience in supervising drilling and construction activities.
• Microsoft Office and designing software Skills (AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word).
• Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
• Minimum of Higher National Diploma in Water Engineering, Geology, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, and other related fields.
• Minimum 1 year relevant work experience.
• Additional experience in solar installation and trouble shooting.
• Experience in drilling and construction activities.
