Retail Merchandiser Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

The following common skills and qualifications are required of a Retail Merchandiser:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, or another relevant field is strongly preferred.
Prior experience as a Retail Merchandiser, Visual Merchandiser, or similar.
Knowledge of pertinent statistical procedures to facilitate data analysis.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Attentive to stockists' and consumers' needs.
Computer literate.
Experience conducting market research.
Ability to create appropriate and engaging product displays.
Professional and polite.
