Youth Support Worker Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

The following common skills and qualifications are required of a Youth Support Worker:

  • High school diploma.
  • Possession of an applicable job-related qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience as a Youth Support Worker or similar.
  • Fluency in prevailing, non-English regional languages is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable about the most threatening social determinants of vulnerability.
  • A meticulously organized and culturally sensitive approach.
  • Serious about addressing prominent social inequities with urgency.
  • Extensive and diverse volunteering experience is recommended.
  • Owning a driver's license is strongly suggested.
