Assistant Accountant - Inventory Control at Eastern Premier Feed Mills - Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc

Premier Feed Mills Company Limited, a subsidiary of Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc., is the leading Animal Feed Brand in Nigeria and largest producer of Aqua Feed in Sub-Sahara Africa. We are consistently supplying top quality Poultry and Aqua feed under the brand name “TOPFEEDS” to Nigerian farmers. Also, ensuring that these animals are provided with the required nutrition for healthy growth and value for investment to the farmer.

We operate a fully automated feed factory with a 300,000 ton per year animal feed mill in Ibadan, Oyo State while our Eastern Premier Feed Mills (EPFM) in Calabar has a total installed capacity of 370,000 metric tons per annum with a capability to produce and bag three different types of feeds simultaneously.Our purchase of local maize provides employment for over 150,000 Nigerian farmers and it also has the flexibility to meet the demand for all animal feed rations. Not only does the Aqua Feed replace imports, but it also results in export opportunities to other parts of the West Africa region and provide valuable SME employment to the Nigerian fish farms that will be providing protein to the nation.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Assistant Accountant - Inventory Control

Location: Calabar, Cross River

Job Purpose

• Responsible for coordinating the inventory control systems by posting material inflow of raw material and out-flow finished feeds on AX to ensure accurate capturing of production material usage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the daily activities of the weighbridge by reconciling AX reports on material movements with the weighbridge reports for accurate bookkeeping.
• Coordinate and monitor the monthly stock taking exercise by organizing employees to participate in the exercise to enable reconciliation.
• Assist in generating periodic inventory control reports and provide insights for decision-making.
• Support the finance and warehouse teams in ensuring inventory policies and controls are strictly adhered to.
• Prepares monthly stock adjustment for both finished goods and raw materials after reconciling Axapta figures with counted figures.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, statistics or related disciplines.

Experience:

• Minimum of three years of relevant experience, preferably in the FMCG or feed industry.

The Person Must:

• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX (Axapta) or similar ERP systems is essential.
• Ability to analyze inventory data, identify variances, and recommend solutions.
• Strong accuracy in comparing records and preparing reconciliation statements.
