A newly commissioned University located in the South-South Geo-political Zone of Nigeria is seeking suitably qualified candidates for the vacant position below:
Job Title: Purchasing/Procurement Officer
Location: South-South
Job Description
- Responsible for the purchase of goods and services
- Manage the procurement process in accordance with the Financial Regulations
- Perform all procurement and contracting activities including prequalification, tender management and contract preparation
- A sound Bachelor's degree/HND in any discipline
- Minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience in procurement
- A certification in purchasing and supply will be an added advantage.

- The successful candidate shall hold office on such terms and conditions as will be specified in the letter of appointment.
- Drive the ICT platform by Planning, organizing, controlling and evaluating IT and the electronic data and operations.
- Manage the information technology and computer systems
- Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures as approved by the management.
- identify problematic areas and recommend for implementation timely strategic solutions.
- Preserve assets, information security and control structures.
- A sound B.Sc in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS). Certification by Computer Association of Nigeria will be an added advantage.
- Over ten (10) years proven work experience as IT manager
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems.
- Expertise in data centre management and data governance
- Hands on experience with computer network administration and network installation.

- Maintain imprest and pay petty expenses
- Receive monies and issue receipts
- Maintain records of all receipts and payments.
- Sound Bachelor's degree/HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Management Studies.
- Minimum of five (5) years post- graduation cognate experience.

- Minimum of five (5) years post- graduation cognate experience.

- The Chief Finance Officer of the University
- Responsible for the maintenance of the assets and liabilities of the University
- Creating and maintaining a robust financial and accounting system for the University
- Implementing adequate internal control mechanism to check fraud and wastages
- Keeping record of every financial transaction in the University
- Ensuring that all incoming and outgoing money and goods are accurately recorded
- Controlling and reconciling variances and discrepancies, making corrections where necessary and reporting to Management/Council
- Promoting and Implementing cost reduction programs that will enhance profitability
- Preparing financial statements and final accounts
- Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations
- Managing accounts payable and receivables
- Preparing and Monitoring budgets and reporting variances to the Management/Council promptly
- Excellent analytical skills and experience creating reports and presentations
- Computer literacy (financial packages and MS Excel in particular)
- Strong financial management skills
- Knowledge of accounting procedures and best practices
- A sound B.Sc degree and a Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA)
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years post qualification cognate experience
- Budget preparation and cash flow management skills
- Experience in a recognized University may be an added advantage.
- Applicants for the position must be candidates with vision, proven professional distinction, managerial ability, integrity and transparency in private and public life able to work in a team and discharge their responsibilities with efficiency and effectiveness.
- The successful candidate shall hold office on such terms and conditions as will be specified in the letter of appointment.
- Reporting to the Bursar and responsible for duties as assigned by the Bursar
- Excellent analytical skills and experience creating reports and presentations
- Computer literacy (financial packages and MS Excel in particular)
- Strong financial management skills
- Knowledge of accounting procedures and best practices
- A sound B.Sc degree and a Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA)
- Minimum of ten (10) years post qualification cognate experience
- Budget preparation and cash flow management skills
- Experience in a recognized University may be an added advantage.

- Report on the efficiency and effectiveness with which the University carries on its operations.
- Report on the extent of compliance with laid down rules and procedures.
- Report on adequacy of procedures and scope for corrective action.
- A sound B.Sc degree or its equivalent and a Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA)
- Minimum of ten (10) years cognate experience
