Job Title: Packaging Electrician

Location: Ilesa, Osun
Employment Type: Full time

Job Description

  • The purpose of this job is to provide specialized electrical artisan skill and knowledge to the shift team, and to support the operations, maintenance of the Packaging plant.
  • Perform and assist in problem solving and the execution of quality control checks and analyses, including coaching of other team members and support asset care activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist support to the shift-based teams during operations
  • Assist as functional expert in problem solving
  • This must be undertaken in support of the Process Artisan. This role can also be the Process Artisan on shift
  • Take part in maintenance planning meeting, contributing suggestions and clarifying work required
  • Carry out work during the planned maintenance outage in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule issued by the Main Planner
  • Partake in maintenance postmortems to feedback problems, opportunities, and learnings from maintenance activities
  • Partake in cleaning, lubrication and inspection in accordance with the maintenance schedule issued by the Maintenance Planner
  • Carry out routine maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule
  • Where problems have been uncovered during routine maintenance, these must be resolved using the appropriate PS techniques
  • Partake in carrying out running repairs on plant and equipment, or support the Process Artisans in carrying out repairs
  • When carrying out repairs, assess the problem and determine a course of action
  • Complete the administration tasks relating to any running repairs carried out as per CMMS requirements
  • Where problems have occurred during routine activities, apply the correct problem-solving approach to resolve
  • Where required, call in additional resources to assist in problem-solving or escalate to the Maintenance Controller for direction
  • Assist fellow team members to resolve problems
  • Always Operate in a safe manner, and identify and highlight unsafe work practices so that these may be corrected
  • Carry out work according to the work instructions and adhere to appropriate AB InBev policies and procedures
  • Carry out housekeeping tasks, and apply 5S principles during the execution of duties.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc / HND qualification or equivalent in Electrical / Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years in FMCG environment
  • Manage Machines according to VPO principles and standards
  • A logical, analytical problem solver who can operate in an unstructured environment
  • A team player (prepared to communicate, listen and assist).

Job Title: Operator - Packaging

Job Description

  • The primary role for this position is to operate and maintain defined packaging equipment and related processes to achieve optimal effectiveness.

The Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Operating equipment in packaging process areas according to VPO standards
  • Constantly reviewing process performance against target, and recording short stops and correcting any out of controls using the VPO tools
  • Recording waste and movement of product on the appropriate documentation or information systems. Review trends to identify & resolve problems
  • Carrying out autonomous operations as defined for the process areas
  • Identify defective plant, and report these through to the process artisan or team leader to assist with resolution
  • Assisting the process artisan/machine specialist in executing running repairs on shift
  • Carrying out the required quality checks and analyses and recording the results on the appropriate information system
  • React to the results using the VPO tools supplied
  • Actively participate in shift meetings, asking questions to test understanding and contributing suggestions. making use of the action logs to record issues, problems and improvement opportunities
  • Fully understand the team dream and contribute in achieving it
  • Make use of relevant communication media (e.g. shift logbook) to stay informed and inform others of issues
  • Complete required hand over to incoming shift team members, ensuring the issues relating to plant performance, quality and maintenance are communicated
  • Where problems occur, use the VPO problem solving tools to resolve and record the issues.

Job Title: Laboratory Technician - Packaging

Location: Onitsha, Anambra
Employment Type: Full time

Overall Purpose of the Function

  • An opportunity exists for a highly skilled and result driven Laboratory Technician - Packaging in our Plant located in South-East Nigeria reporting to the QC Specialist.
  • The successful incumbent would carry out sampling, sample preparation and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and packaged product.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Prepare samples and conduct sample analyses
  • Request for chemicals /reagents and other working tools from Specialists
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated according to manualized methods.
  • Carry out specialized and highly specialized quality analyses for which the shift-based teams are not responsible
  • Record the results of analyses on appropriate information systems and communicate results where required
  • Conduct analysis of results to identify problems and improvement opportunities timeously
  • Assist the shift-based teams in the execution of quality analysis, where required
  • Conduct calibration of specialist equipment for which the labs are responsible and provide calibration assistance 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of B.Sc / HND in Biological Sciences / Microbiology or related field
  • 1-2 years’ experience as a Laboratory Technician
  • Good knowledge of micro laboratory systems, processes and analyses
  • Experience in the application of problem-solving techniques and statistics
  • Good understanding of HACCP, GMP standards and CIP requirements PC literacy Good all-round knowledge of AB InBev manufacturing processes and philosophies
  • Proven knowledge and experience in integrating and facilitating a multidisciplinary group of skills, specialists, and functions
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good auditing skills Information systems knowledge

  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts
  • Maintain working knowledge of new technology instrumentation, software, etc., through reading and/or attending conferences, workshops or other training
  • Provide engineering/projects support and recommendations for new and existing equipment about installation, upgrades and enhancement.

  • Interpret and implement production plan for shift
  • Operate manual and automatic machines on Packaging line as per standards
  • Monitor production processes on shift and correct any negative trends
  • Ensure process quality and productivity.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc / HND or equivalent in Engineering
  •  Experience in a packaging process environment
  • Minimum 2 years in FMCG environment
  • Experience in running a high-speed packaging line.
