Greater Impact Initiative for Child Support (GIMPACS) is a woman-led, youth led, and non-governmental organization established in 2023 and formally incorporated in 2024 with the focus on providing healthcare and hygiene services to marginalized children, women, and persons living with disability.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Finance Assistant

Locations: Adamawa, Borno & Yobe

Job Summary

  • The Finance Assistant Intern will provide essential support to the Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with organizational and donor requirements.
  • This role will involve assisting in budgeting, financial reporting, and day-to-day financial operations. The intern will gain valuable experience in financial management within a humanitarian context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including expense reports, receipts, and invoices
  • Help verify the accuracy of financial documents and transactions
  • Assist in maintaining an organized filing system for financial document
  • Support the Finance Officer in preparing and updating financial policies and procedures
  • Help prepare financial reports for internal and donor purposes.
  • Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and financial projections.
  • Support the Finance Officer in reconciling financial transactions and preparing monthly financial reports
  • Help track program budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with donor requirements
  • Assist in preparing financial documents for audits and donor reports
  • Support the processing of payments to vendors, staff, and partners.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Finance Officer or Finance Manager to support the organization’s goals.

Requirements

  • A recent graduate in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Hausa or other local languages is an advantage.
  • Strong interest in Financial Management and humanitarian work.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial management

Essential:

  • Computer skills, especially in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Proficiency in Intuit Quickbooks and other financial management tools
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers accurately.
