Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Lagos

Summary

  • The Finance Officer will be responsible for the accounting operations of the Bank, including supporting the preparation of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, assist to enhance the accuracy of the Bank's financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or International Financial Reporting Standards.

Job Functions

  • Assist in the preparation of accounts profitability reports, expense reports and the analysis and assessment of each profit/cost center and entire bank.
  • Develops, updates and implements finance and tax strategies, policies and processes.
  • Assist in financial planning to optimize returns on investments and co-ordinate annual tax computation /returns.
  • Gives support to ensures that the annual financial statements and statutory reports are prepared in a timely manner, accurately and in accordance with standards and regulations.
  • Gives support to ensures statutory obligations are fulfilled in an efficient and effective manner
  • Assist to ensure proper monitoring and controls of revenue and expenses (Opex and Capex) to ensure operational and financial efficiency
  • Liaises with external and internal auditors; and ensures the annual and/or periodic audits are seamlessly carried out
  • Assist to develop and implement a robust and reliable financial reporting system in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of the financial records/Books of Accounts

Educational Requirements

  • Minimum of a University Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or any other relevant discipline from a reputable institution
  • Minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in a financial institution, part of which must have been spent within a financial control environment
  • Relevant professional certifications e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or its equivalent is required.
