Job Title: IT Executive

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Job Overview

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Executive to join our team. As an IT Executive, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of our company's information technology systems. This includes hardware, software, networks, security, cloud infrastructure, and technical support. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation, security, and optimal performance of our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
Hardware Management:

  • Procure, install, and configure computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and repairs to ensure hardware reliability.
  • Monitor hardware inventory and manage equipment lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with vendors to evaluate and select hardware solutions.

Software and Applications:

  • Install, configure, and update software applications across the organization.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues related to software usage.
  • Collaborate with vendors to evaluate and select software solutions that meet business needs.
  • Develop and implement software deployment strategies and standard operating procedures.

Network Administration:

  • Design, implement, and maintain local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN).
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network resources.
  • Configure and maintain network equipment, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Ensure network security through regular updates, patches, and monitoring.

Systems Administration:

  • Install, configure, and manage servers, operating systems, and virtualization platforms.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize system resources.
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.

Security and Data Protection:

  • Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
  • Monitor systems for unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats.
  • Manage data backup and recovery processes to ensure business continuity.

Cloud Infrastructure:

  • Design and implement scalable and secure cloud solutions using platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Provision and configure cloud resources based on defined architecture.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, cost, and scalability.
  • Ensure cloud security, compliance, and data privacy.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to end-users.
  • Respond to user inquiries, resolve hardware and software issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Document and track support requests, ensuring timely resolution.

IT Infrastructure Planning:

  • Assess current IT infrastructure and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and implement IT policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT infrastructure with business goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2 - 5 years work experience.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and other network protocols.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience working as an IT Executive or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware management, software applications, network administration, systems administration, security, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Proficient in operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, and macOS.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
