KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation Nigeria is a local non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against tuberculosis (TB), the deadliest infectious disease in Nigeria. KNCV Nigeria is a local center of excellence for TB control that promotes effective, efficient, innovative and sustainable tuberculosis control strategies in a national context. Our multidisciplinary team of passionate professionals covers a broad range of expertise such as programmatic TB control, research, clinical management, social science, education, digital health, and project management.

Job Title: Project Coordinator

Details

  • The Digital Adherence Technologies (DATs) project is funded by Stop TB Partnership and focuses on using digital tools to support patients with TB treatment and improve treatment outcomes.
  • DATs are tools designed to assist people TB patients on treatment to take their medications at a place and time convenient to them while remaining connected to their health care provider. Also, it helps to facilitate the identification of high-risk patients who may need additional in-person support.
  • KNCV TB Foundation Nigeria will be implementing Digital Adherence Technologies (DATs) in 8 states of Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Benue, Imo, Nasarawa, Kano, Katsina, and Rivers to promote adherence to TB treatment and ensure person-centred care for TB patients in Nigeria.

Purpose of the Position

  • The Project Coordinator will work with and coordinate the implementation of TB Digital Adherence Technology (DAT) in Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Benue, Imo, Nasarawa, Kano, Katsina & Rivers state to deliver on key project objectives. He/she will ensure the implementation of DAT project in the 8 states including monitoring progress against planned activities.
  • Hierarchically, the Project Coordinator reports to the Director of Strategic Information.

As a Project Coordinator you will:

  • Coordinate the implementation of the DAT grant in the focused State.
  • Lead efforts in operational plan development, project implementation as well as monitoring and evaluation.
  • Lead efforts in the engagement of key state level stakeholders, state TB programs, Ministry of health and Local government on the implementation of the DAT activities
  • Work with the DAT technical partners and establish a project management platforms project planning, review and monitoring of progress.
  • Provide technical assistance on rapid assessments, situational analysis, evaluations and other related activities with focus on DAT focused States.
  • Provide technical guidance on training and capacity building in the focused states in the implementation of DAT project.
  • With the assistance of country office staff, monitor all intervention strategies to ensure that they meet administrative, financial and programmatic goals.
  • Conduct supervision to designated DAT project focused states/LGA’s.
  • Provide technical assistance to NTP.
  • Provide technical support and oversight to State staff on implementing key intervention areas of DAT project in designated states/LGA.
  • Convene coordination platforms to support collaboration between DAT project and USAID TB LON regions 1 and 2 support for State and LGA TB Control Programs.
  • Monitor & supervise the implementation of project activities in the designated state/LGAs.
  • Support rigorous monitoring and a strong focus on evaluation system to track the progress of all activities and outputs.
  • Organize and report monthly on the implementation of the project in the states.
  • Perform other additional duties assigned.

Requirements
Education:

  • Minimum of MPH or Master's Degree in other relevant Public Health disciplines.

Knowledge/experience:

  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience working with: TB & HIV program at various levels.
  • Experience with USAID or UN projects or any development partner is an advantage.
  • Strong coordination, planning, and supervisory skills.
  • Competent with operational plan development, implementation, and evaluation of results.
  • Comfortable planning and delivering multiple activities under pressure to strict deadlines and high levels of precision.
  • Self-motivated with a strong ability to identify and develop relevant areas of work.
  • Able to communicate complex issues in a concise, accessible, and engaging manner.

Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Purpose of the position

  • The M&E Officer will work with the project coordinator to ensure effective M&E of DAT project activities. Ensure implementation of the M&E plan for DAT project including monitoring progress against planned activities, critical milestones and targets as well as providing support and guidance to program counterparts to ensure that the data collection, data management and reporting, are of the highest possible quality.
  • Hierarchically, the M & E Officer reports to the Project Coordinator.

As a M & E Officer You Will

  • Ensure timely and complete reporting of project activities.
  • Adapt & implement tools & techniques to improve quality and use of data.
  • In collaboration with the State TB program, mentor all M&E focal persons in the state level as well as Local Government TB & Leprosy Control Supervisors (LGTBLSs) and Health Facility Staff.
  • Contribute to employ a rigorous monitoring and evaluation system to track the progress of all activities and outputs, including a strong focus on evaluating Tuberculosis awareness and participation in all project activities.
  • Support the project coordinator in data management for rapid assessments, situational analysis, surveys, evaluations, and other research as required.
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating progress towards annual work plans, expected outputs, including selecting and monitoring progress in meeting indicators.
  • Assist the project coordinator and support monitoring and evaluation and knowledge management activities.
  • Ensure timely data collection, compilation and reporting according to DAT project monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) plan.
  • Perform other additional duties as assigned.

Who Are We Looking For?
Education:

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Social Sciences.

Knowledge / Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in M & E in public health project.
  • Experience in working in the fields of TB/HIV, Community TB, and MDR TB, with extensive field experience in Nigeria.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and use of computer.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, approachable and good listener.
  • Exhibits high level of accuracy in work, and ability to analyze complex sets of relationships and situations.

Job Title: Account Officer

Purpose of the Position

  • The Finance Unit is responsible for the timely, complete, and accurate registration of transactions in the accounting system of KNCV Nigeria and related legal entities and for reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Furthermore, the Unit develops and supports the financial management system by operating an effective and efficient planning and control cycle, by designing and maintaining the administrative workflows and internal control procedures and by implementing and maintaining relevant IT applications.
  • He/she will keep accurate, complete, and up-to-date office records for KNCV Nigeria, as well as to provide general support to at the central office in Abuja.
  • Hierarchically, the account officer reports to the DAT Project Coordinator.

As an Account Officer you will:

  • Check and assign codes to all financial documents.
  • Enter all financial documents into the accounting system.
  • Prepare and process payments in the banking system.
  • Monitor all advance accounts and reports outstanding balances to Abuja office on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that all project incurred expenses are timely paid, documented and filed.
  • Assist in the annual audit process and related activities.
  • Maintain inventory list of all KNCV Nigeria Assets.
  • Oversee procurement process of the DAT Project.
  • Develop and maintains an effective professional relationship with KNCV’s Nigeria local banking institutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all US Government (USG) and KNCV Nigeria financial management and accounting policies and regulations.
  • Engage in financial and related tasks as required by the Project Coordinator DAT Project
  • Ensure adherence to all major financial rules and regulations which are described in the KNCV Finance Manual and other appropriate policies.
  • Perform other additional duties as assigned by management in relation with project implementation and daily management of the organization.

Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Accounting, Finance and or Business Management).

Knowledge / Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in finance management, accounting and working in a project setting.
  • Demonstrable experience with accounting and financial reporting in USG supported projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting software systems.

Behavioral competencies and skills:

  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Proficiency in the use of computer application (Microsoft office etc)
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills
  • Must be self-starter with the ability to work in a team, dynamic, solid, and open.
  • Must be flexible with absolute integrity, organizational awareness and understanding of cultural differences.
