The Inventory Officer RM WH is key to accurate material stocks and consumption at the mill shop floor and in the SAP R/3 system. The main purpose is to ensure that system stocks of materials and finishing supplies are fully aligned to physical stocks in the mill.
To ensure this is the case, the main responsibility of the Inventory Officer RM WH is to declare finished products in a timely manner, check and solve back-flushing errors and analyze system consumption vs actual consumption (via regular stock counts) to track BOM in-accuracies and to drive accurate product costing.

Declares production in a timely manner based on information provided from operations

Material consumption:

Does frequent material stock counts at shop floor and adjusts system stocks to match actual stocks

Promptly processing of customer requests to amend item descriptions, review stock levels & timeout ordering of additional materials for shutdown purposes.
Stock transfers via Transaction SAP code from duplicated items & subsequent request to OTS Europe to delete items.

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills.
A sound knowledge and experience of procurement principles and inventory control are key requirements.
Accounting background will be an advantage - Recon and balancing of stock
National Diploma or equivalent in Engineering Discipline with 5 years' experience in FMCG environment.
Computer literate - SAP, Microsoft Excel/Outlook/Word

Job Description

Assist production crew to perform to departmental/machine objectives.
Ensure Safety and Housekeeping standards are adhered to.
To ensure all products converted and packed meets the ISO 9001 quality standards.

Main Responsibilities

Pack produced products in such a way to meet overall machine output and waste targets.
Participate in problem solving techniques to ensure machine efficiencies
Ensure that all products packed adhered to product specifications.
Participate in team meetings.
Follow safe operating practises when packing and palletizing at machines, by ensuring guarding is in place and to follow works instructions.
Monitor the activity of the packing robots and ensure all packing and palletizing materials are in place
Maintain high levels of hygiene and housekeeping in department.

Qualifications

National Diploma ND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Minimum 3 years’ experience on high-speed production equipment, of which at least 2 years must be process experience.
Prior high-speed production machine maintenance or operating experience, especially on Diaper machines will be advantageous.
Minimum of one year experience in packing environment with high speed FMCG equipment.
