Job Title: Maintenance Planner / Scheduler

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner / Scheduler to take ownership of planning and scheduling all maintenance activities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and optimal resource utilization across operations.

Role Overview

  • The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler will play a critical role in ensuring that all maintenance and turnaround activities are carefully planned, scheduled, and executed safely and efficiently.
  • The role requires strong coordination across operations, execution teams, procurement, and contractors, with a clear focus on SHE compliance, cost control, and schedule integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety remains the highest priority in all maintenance and turnaround planning and scheduling activities.
  • Collaborate with core teams and work teams to develop detailed job plans, schedules, cost estimates, and resource requirements for routine and complex maintenance work.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities during turnaround windows, managing both critical and sub-critical paths.
  • Equipment readiness and permitting
  • Timely availability of materials and contracts
  • Appropriate labor crew composition and construction equipment support
  • Develop comprehensive job packs and support contractor interfaces to ensure smooth execution.
  • Provide leadership in work team meetings by removing barriers, stewarding action items, and maintaining alignment between cost profiles, work plans, and estimates.
  • Apply advanced planning, scheduling, and estimating tools to optimize work execution.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts, resource constraints, and sequencing challenges to maintain schedule integrity.
  • Track scope changes, field orders, and cost impacts, ensuring alignment with approved work plans and budgets.
  • Coordinate closely with Operations, Execution Leads, Schedulers, and Procurement to ensure:

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a closely related maintenance planning/scheduling role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (relevant discipline), appropriate professional certification(s), or equivalent practical experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present recommendations to management
  • Proven ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and shifting priorities
  • Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of SHE requirements, maintenance work selection criteria, norms estimating, procurement practices, and business controls
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant planning/scheduling software
