Overview

  • The Program Officer is expected to work independently with limited supervision and reports to the Senior Program Manager while providing direct technical support to MCGL KM/C and MEL Advisors and supporting all team members in providing all necessary program and technical support to the MCGL-VAWG project towards achieving set goals.
  • The Program Officer will have supervisory role of up to two Program Assistants.

Responsibilities
Program Management Support:

  • Assist in developing and monitoring annual work plans and budgets, as well as associated deliverables and results/outputs.
  • Liaise with field office staff, including HR and Operations staff, on various operational, technical and program areas as well as project-related personnel issues.
  • Assist in preparing LP FAAs, project activity profiles, procurement contract documents (purchase orders, TAR, TRF and Memoranda of Understanding) as may be requested;
  • Facilitate consultant approvals and paperwork, including identifying, interviewing and hiring consultants, managing consultant expense reports and invoices, and ensuring accuracy and adherence to contract
  • Participate in project activity meetings, supportive supervisions and providing administrative supports as may be necessary.
  • Create and maintain files of correspondence/documents and electronically received information, and ensure up-to- date filing. Maintain both hardcopies and electronic copies of the office records and reference files on various subjects.

  • Any other duties assigned by the SPM.

Knowledge Management and Communications (KMC) Support:

  • Provide support in developing high-level knowledge management and communications products to showcase the work of MCGL to key audience in an on-going basis,
  • Communicate the mission, projects, events, resources and success stories as well as plan and coordinate promotional events and develop strategic communications, to various targeted audiences.
  • Support the development of project success stories and other visibility products
  • Provide support in preparing project-related reports, presentations and documents, including subcontract scopes of work, country strategies, progress updates, curricula, and other documents and reports.
  • Perform other KM/C tasks assigned by KMC Advisor

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Support:

  • Ensure continuous update of the data visualization dashboard in Country Office and proper archiving of all IRB/study related documents
  • Support monthly analysis of community and facility routine data e.g. activity observation forms for all community activities, change tracker, facility supportive supervision etc.
  • Participate in quarterly data quality assessment (DQA) in Sokoto and Ebonyi States
  • Perform other MEL tasks assigned by the MEL Advisor
  • Conduct monthly desk review of data on REDCAP i.e. track availability of data on the platform by LPs and completeness of same, timely data synchronization, missing entries etc. and communicate same to MEL Advisor
  • Support data cleaning efforts during periodic surveys and other data collection

Qualification Specification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences or another related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in programmatic support of international health projects
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the implementation and management of health Information systems (MNH and GBV programming preferred) and/or program management.

Experience and Requirements:

  • A broad variety of programmatic, technical and computer skills
  • Proficiency in word processing, Microsoft Office and data software.
  • Ability to travel 25% of time.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate information and logistics for programs and activities.
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform.
  • Excellent presentation skills and verbal and written communications skills.
  • Previous experience working INGO.

Salary Range
N5,912,046 - N6,913,132.80 (Annual Basic)
