Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Government of Japan Internships for AI and Tech Talent (Fully Funded to Japan)

Applications are now open for the 2025 METI AI and Tech Talent Internship in Japan. The Program will run from October 31 to December 15, 2025. It is a government-approved internship program and is sponsored and implemented by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Each company will recruit 1 to 5 Interns. The aim of the METI AI and Tech Talent Internship Program is to promote IT talent for Japanese companies.

Eligibility Criteria

• The Internship is open to the Citizens of the DAC List of ODA Recipients.
• Applicants must reside outside of Japan.
• Must be either a current student (expecting graduation from a higher education institution) or a recent graduate (within the last three years).
• Must possess English language communication skills.
• Japanese language proficiency should be below the JLPT N5 level.
• Applicants must be available to fully participate in all internship and training activities.
• Must satisfy any additional criteria set forth by the host company.
