Job Title: Environment Operator

Location: Onitsha, Anambra
Job type: Full-time

Overall Purpose of the Function

  • An opportunity exists for an Operator – Environment at International Breweries Plc Onitsha, reporting to the Technical Services Manager.
  • The Operator will operate the Biological Treatment System (BTS) plant and the execution of quality control checks and analyses, including coaching of other team members and supporting the Process Artisan in carrying out asset care activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interpret and implement plan for shift
  • Monitor processes on shift for the BTS, WTP and Water abstraction plant
  • Ensure process quality and productivity
  • Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
  • Co-ordinate autonomous maintenance and cleaning
  • Achieve BTS PTS compliance targets Comply with VPO safety, health and environmental policies, procedures, and legislation
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
  • Carry out specialized and highly specialized quality analyses for which the shift-based teams are responsible
  • Record the results of analyses on appropriate information systems and communicate results where required
  • Conduct analysis of results to identify problems and improvement opportunities timeously
  • Assist the shift-based teams in the execution of quality analysis, where required
  • Conduct required and requested quality audits, completing the appropriate documentation, and communicating the results
  • Contribute to self and team development
  • Support the shift-based production teams in problem solving, providing specialist assistance and techniques
  • Coach, mentor and assist shift-based production teams on problem solving and correct use of problem solving techniques
  • Carry out specialized analyses in support of the evaluation of continuous improvement opportunities
  • Determine additional analytical work required evaluating continuous improvement opportunities
  • Take part in regional and divisional process optimization initiatives as required
  • Review quality analysis procedures of shift-based teams, identifying problems or training needs and communicating these to the team leader
  • Conduct regular audits of calibration procedures of shift-based production teams and communicating results
  • Conduct audits of analytic procedures to ensure compliance with COT guidelines, and identifying corrective actions required
  • Where required, initiate corrective actions coming out of the quality audits in areas that impact the laboratory. Communicate effectively in teams

Qualifications

  • B.Sc / HND or equivalent in Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years in FMCG environment

Job Title: Process Operator - Energy & Fluids

Location: Onitsha, Anambra
Employment Type: Full-time

Overall Purpose of the Function

  • To Safely operate and maintain defined Brewing equipment and process areas which have a bigger business impact with cost and consumer quality. And other related process to achieve optimal effectiveness.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Operating equipment in Energy and Fluids process areas according to VPO standards
  • Constantly reviewing process performance against target, and recording short stops and correcting any out of controls using the VPO tools
  • Recording waste and movement of product on the appropriate documentation or information systems. Review trends to identify & resolve problems
  • Carrying out autonomous operations as defined for the process areas.
  • Identify defective plant, and report these through to the Process Artisan or Team Leader to assist with resolution.
  • Assisting the Process Artisan/Machine specialist in executing running repairs on shift.
  • Carrying out the required quality checks and analyses and recording the results on the appropriate information system.
  • The list of quality checks to be executed is contained in the work instructions.
  • React to the results using the VPO tools supplied
  • Actively participate in shift meetings, asking questions to test understanding and contributing suggestions. Making use of the action logs to record issues, problems, and improvement opportunities.
  • Fully understand the team Dream and contribute to achieving it.
  • Make use of relevant communication media (e.g. shift logbook) to stay informed and inform others of issues.
  • Complete required hand over to incoming shift team members, ensuring the issues relating to plant performance, quality and maintenance are communicated.
  • Manage PIMS & POMS and take corrective action on negative trends
  • Use QFR's (As per triggers)
  • Complete 5 WHY's (As per triggers) with relevant team members
  • Contribute towards AB reports as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of B.Sc ./ HND in Microbiology, Biochemistry or other related courses.
  • 1 year on the job training, SKAP Completed.

  • Complete team room administration as required

  • Complete 5 WHY's (As per triggers) with relevant team members
  • Contribute towards AB reports as required
