Apple & Pears Limited was incorporated in the year 2012 as an Agro-Allied & food industry to produce soya meal, concentrate and finished feed for the poultry, and refined edible oil, mayonnaise, ketchup, salad cream, vinegar, and custard powder for the Nigerian market.

The company has invested millions of dollars in land, building, construction of infrastructural facilities and machinery, with one goal in mind and that is to have an integrated facility encompassing the complete value chain of the soya bean business, from sourcing, processing, and extraction to the packaging and distribution of a wide range of soya products. With an extensive distribution network which enables the company to market its product rangea wide range of markets, making a strong impact on the refined oil market segment and feed mill industry in Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Production Manager

Location: Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages the entire production department including Manpower, estimate cost and budget, health and safety of the department.
• Scheduling employee shift and keeping track of employee timing and performance on the job.
• Ensuring compliance with use of PPEs, health and safety measures at all times.
• Keep track and monitor inventory of feed ingredient and orders.
• Be proactive to come up with suggestions or ideas on how to improve service delivery of the production team.
• Ensures customer orders are completed on time, that budget and quality standards and targets are met.
• Works with other managers to implement the company's policies and goals.
• Collates and analyzes data, putting together production reports for both factory managers and customers
• Supervises and motivates a team of workers.
• Review worker performance and identify training needs.
• Plans and organizes work to meet individual, team and departmental objectives whilst achieving quality and value.
• Takes a methodical approach to work, prioritizes tasks effectively to consistently meet deadlines, meeting customer expectations.
• Decides on and order the resources that are required and ensures stock levels remain adequate
• Selects equipment and take responsibility for its maintenance
• Sets the quality standards
• Ensures that the production is cost effective by estimating costs, negotiating and agreeing budgets with both clients and managers
• Monitors the production processes and adjusts schedules as needed
• Monitors productivity rates and product standards and implement quality control programs
• Organizes the repair of any damaged equipment
• Liaises with different departments, teams and companies, e.g. suppliers, managers, clients.
• Ensures that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times
• Any other duties may be assigned when the need arises.

Skills / Requirements

• First Degree / HND or equivalent qualification in Food Technology, or related Degree.
• Minimum of 6 years cognate working experience, at least 3 years in a managerial role; experience in manufacturing organization would be an added advantage.
• Experience in the use of machines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong negotiation skills for getting materials within budget at the right time
• Ability to work under pressure and multitask
• Leadership skills and the ability to motivate others to meet deadlines
• Results-driven approach to work.
• Awareness and attention to details.
• Good communication skills.

Salary
N400,000 / month.
