ECWA Eye Hospital, Kano was founded in January 20, 1943. It started as a 25 bed hospital with only one ophthalmologist. Over the years it has evolved to a 185 bed capacity Eye hospital with 2 consultant Ophthalmologists, 7 Resident Ophthalmologists, 3 Optometrists, 3 Ophthalmic nurses, 11 staff nurses, 36 Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW), 24 Administrative/Account staff, 3 laboratory staff, 5 Optical Technicians, 3 chaplaincy staff and 43 supportive staff that provide a wide range of specialized eye care services.

ECWA Eye Hospital Kano under the Comprehensive and Inclusive Eye Health project (CIEHP) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Officer

Location: Kano

Purpose

• Support and manage all activities for the efficient running of the Comprehensive and Inclusive Eye Health project (CIEHP) in Kano and Jigawa States.
• Key deliverables will be setting up the facility to enable quality patient care by replicating the "ECWA Eye Hospital Way" throughout all its processes.

Educational Qualification

• Candidate must possess a minimum of a B.Sc / HND in either Health Information Management, project management, Computer Science or any other relevant course.
• Knowledge of community eye care management will be an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including community members, government representatives, and donors.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
