Research Supervisor at International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA)

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Research Supervisor 

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: 1-year renewable contract

Responsibilities

• Support establishment and management of nutrient omission trials for development of site-specific nutrients management tools.
• Contribute to training of extension agents and farmers on climate-smart agriculture and ISFM.
• Ensure accurate data recording and maintain trial documentation for research 
• Gather farmer feedback to refine research approaches and ensure adoption of recommended practices.
• Contribute to soil sampling and data collection to support digital soil mapping in Northern Nigeria.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• BSc in Agronomy, Agricultural Science and other related courses.
• The ideal candidate must have minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment. 

Competencies:
The ideal candidate must:

• Be proficient in the use MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams etc.
• Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate a high level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
• Possess excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal.
