Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Direct Subordinates: Account Supervisor, Accountants & Account Officers

Job Summary

• He / She prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Possess the technical knowledge sufficient to supervise Account Supervisor and other Accountants
• Maintain clear and concise accounting and tax work papers
• Interface with department heads to understand variance to budget and re-forecast
• Assisting the Chief Accountant in the overall financial operations of the Accounts Department, primarily supervising the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and investment areas
• Assisting in preparation for the organization’s annual financial audit
• Prepare journal entries and take a leading role in the monthly close process
• Prepare and manage monthly reconciliations
• Be a key member of the monthly reporting each month, ensuring that deadlines are met
• Work with managers /department heads to complete monthly/quarterly forecasting

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 3 - 4 years work experience.

• Proven experience in finance management. i.e. Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals.

• Proficiency in accounting software - ERP Next

• Reconciliation and journal entries
