Opening Prayer for a Meeting
Praying at the beginning of a meeting is a great way of reminding ourselves that God is with us, that He is at the center of everything we do, and that the reason we are alive is to love and worship Him. It's almost a culture in Nigeria to have opening prayers during meetings at our work places or anywhere else.
If you are responsible for leading a meeting/gathering or you are expected to say the opening prayer, then find below sample opening prayers you can read and recite before attending the meeting:
Opening Prayer for a Meeting (Sample #1)
Dear Father,
We thank you for everyone gathered here now. Thank you that you know each of us by name and have caused us to walk with You.
We say that we are dependent on You and our trust is in You completely.
As we surrender ourselves in adoration we ask that You would come by Your Holy Spirit and inspire our hearts today.
Come fill our lives with Your love, fill our conversations with Your grace and truth, fill this meeting with Your presence.
We ask this for Your glory and praise.
Amen.
Opening Prayer for a Meeting (Sample #2)
Lord, as we gather today at this meeting we ask that You will be in our midst. Help us to make decisions that will be pleasing to You. Help us to be able to discuss the matters at hand in a reasonable way, and to be willing to give up having our own way.
God let this meeting be productive and, as should be the case in all areas of our lives, help us to keep You at the forefront of our minds as we do the work set before us.

Heavenly Father, we come to you today asking for your guidance, wisdom, and support as we begin this meeting. Help us to engage in meaningful discussion; allow us to grow closer as a group and nurture the bonds of community.
Fill us with your grace, Lord God, as we make decisions that might affect each member of staff, department, or the entire company. And continue to remind us that all that we do here today, all that we accomplish, is for the pursuit of truth for the greater glory of You, and for the service of humanity.
