Job Title: Accounts Officer

Job Description

• The Account officer/book keeper has overall responsibility for managing all patients’ account with regards to billing information and communication to patients, ensuring payment and payment reconciliation, keeping the company ledger for all income and expenditure and preparing accounting report for management.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all patient’s billing.
• Daily billing and reconciliation of patient’s account using appropriate application including the Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Will keep company ledger vis-à-vis a statement of revenue/income and expenditure, categorizing the various income received etc.
• Prepares monthly summary/breakdown/report of the revenues and expenditure per category for management report.
• Monthly account reconciliation.
• Track and document company loans.
• Payroll tracking and payments.
• Oversight on departmental expenditure vetting for submission to General Manager.
• Preparing bill summary for patients/relative/sponsor with clear explanation on the rationale for billing. Responsible for presenting and discussing the bills with the patient/relatives/sponsor.
• Following up with patient/relatives/sponsor on timely payment (admission deposit and periodic top ups) so that the patient’s account is not in deficit.
• Updating/Managing bills on the EMR such that the billable services are correctly billed at any point in time.
• Working with other stakeholders to correctly capture all billable services for patients to avoid billing errors.
• Any other assigned related tasks.

Requirements

• BSC / HND in Accounting or any other related discipline.
• At least 5 years of Experience in the Accounting Field.
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications especially Microsoft Excel.
• Very good negotiation skills.
• Very good data management.
• Strong Knowledge of Quickbooks.
• Reporting and analytical skill.
